On August 18th, Facebook launched Places, officially bringing location to the social network and allowing users to not only connect to people and objects, but locations as well.
This morning, we became the first company to offer a brand solution for Facebook Places called the Facebook Places Check-In Leaderboard. You can see it for yourself on the Context Optional
Facebook page. Based on the number of times that a fan checks in to a location, he/she can claim Top Fan status of that location. Starting today, we’re giving brands the opportunity to create a customizable Leaderboard (go to town and name your check-in categories whatever you like!).
You can read more in our
press release. If you’re a brand and would like to get in touch with someone from our team to learn about how you can build your own branded
Places Check-in Leaderboard, shoot us an email at
info@contextoptional.com and we’ll be in touch. Location-based marketing is clearly a huge marketing vehicle for brands and we’re excited to offer our customers an opportunity to take advantage of Facebook Places, recognize their most loyal fans and even give rewards and promotional offers to them.
