I don't know if your were watching but the 2011 Grammy Show was extremely entertaining.  As expected, Lady Gaga entered in an egg with sharpened shoulder blades and bumps in her head. She rocked the house. She scared me when I saw her, but she did rock the house.

An interesting presenter of note as Marc Anthony. J.Lo looked quite confused when he was reciting from a book report he did in middle school. That explanation should be interesting.  Semi-related, I was wondering when Christina Aguillera mangled the Star Spangled Banner at the Super Bowl, did the person translating with sign language get the words wrong too? Just a thought.

Rhianna, Eminem, Dr.Dre and an unknown singer who needed a doctor sang a compelling and powerful version of "Love the way you lie". I gotta say, I watched it twice and bought the song on iTunes.

We learned some things between songs, there were numerous commercials. Cars were a big theme, Mercedes, Ford and Chevy paid some big bucks to sponsor the event on TV.

Towards the end of the show there was Chevy Cruze commercial that showed something new.  A guy smooches after a date and gets back in his Cruze and drives home. Through the audio system he receives a Facebook update that his date was thrilled.  Yes, a little syrupy for me but I got the point. A problem could happen if Don Juan tries to Facebook back while he's driving.

Next up I believe is texting through voice recognition. I applaud anything that will keep people's heads up while driving.  Still, in my opinion driving while talking isn't the same focus as not being involved in a conversation. Our brains wander when questioned and sometimes we are aiming a 4000 pound vehicle at 75 miles an hour.
