SMS communication has been a highly successful marketing vehicle over the last several years. Brands have been able to leverage SMS to promote everything from TV shows to donations for charities. These campaigns have been highly successful and have also been able to create CRM databases that allow brands to continually reach out to consumers. Similar to email marketing in its ability to reach consumers on a personal level, mobile marketing is actually much more valuable. According to comscore, 90% of SMS is read within three minutes and 99% are read overall. These are awesome statistics, but only show the tip of the iceberg. SMS is limited to only 140 characters relegating a marketer to a short message and a URL link.
