The MMA’s Women in Wireless (WiW) Philanthropy group is collecting your used cell phones on behalf of the Grameen Foundation. Your donation goes to help eradicate poverty and provide business opportunities for many in the world’s poorest nations.

Essentially, you can turn a phone into a loan. The proceeds from the recycling efforts will provide microfinance loans to empower the world’s poorest people to escape poverty.  It’s easy to participate if you are going to CTIA. Some of the WiW members will be there in person with special mailers for the used phones. All you have to do is grab a mailer, include up to 3 used cell phones in the bag and drop it in the mail. The postage is prepaid.

So how do you find us? In a few ways:

1.  Attend this CTIA party on March 22.

2. Attend this CTIA panel on March 23: “Start-up Powerhouse- Women Executives.”
